Here is one of the best locos MTH (Mikes Train House- Lionel size and track) made. It's highly detailed, has a great headlight, terrific digital whistle and it's not plastic! The loco and tender are both heavy die cast metal like the trains in the 50's.

TOY TRAIN RULE # ONE- NEVER clean track with STEEL WOOL, no matter how rusty! Use WD-40 on a rag or scotch pad. The wool gets into and ruins the motor.
I have track and dozens of inexpensive Lionel cars to make wonderful train- call me for info.
